In large bowl, whisk together flour, cornmeal, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, buttermilk and oil; pour over the dry ingredients and whisk just until blended.
Preheat your waffle iron and brush it with some oil or spray it with nonstick spray. Pour in about 3/4 cup batter and lay a strip or two of bacon overtop; cook according to the manufacturer's directions, or until the waffle is golden and crisp. Serve topped with extra chopped bacon, if you like.
