Preheat grill to medium high heat.
Cook onion rings according to package instructions.
Cook bacon over medium high heat in a pan. When done cooking place on paper towel until ready to use.
Heavily season burgers with salt and pepper. Grill for 4-5 minutes a side until nicely browned and grill marks arise. Top burgers with smoked cheddar cheese and let melt.
Toast buns on grill for 1 minute a side.
To assemble place BBQ sauce on top and bottom bun, then stack lettuce, burger and onion rings on bottom bun and top with lid.
