In a large bowl, whisk together 1 cup each all-purpose and whole- wheat flour, 1/4 cup ground flaxseed, 2 tsp baking powder and a pinch of salt.

In another bowl, whisk together 1 cup each milk and plain yogurt, 2 eggs, 2 tbsp canola or mild olive oil and, if you like, 1 mashed, very ripe banana.
3.
Add to the dry ingredients, stirring just until combined, and cook on a preheated waffle iron until golden.
