Ultimate Cheeseburgers

  • 4 chuck or plant based patties
  • canola oil, for cooking
  • salt
  • 4 processed cheese slices (regular or vegan) or deli cheddar
  • 4 hamburger buns or Good Bread Barnstorm Brioche burger rolls, Knaughty Pretzel buns or Right as Rain onion buns
  • 3 Tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 3 Tbsp. ketchup
  • 2 tsp. mustard
  • lettuce, tomatoes, pickles or your choice of garnishes

How to Make It

Set a large, heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add a drizzle of oil and cook the patties, sprinkling with salt, for 8-10 minutes, or until just cooked through. Top with cheese and cover with a lid or piece of foil for another minute to allow the cheese to melt. In a small bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, ketchup and mustard to make a special sauce, and spread the cut side of the buns with it. Slide the patties onto split buns, and top with your choice of garnishes.
