While it’s nice to have something delicious warming in the oven, making your house smell wonderful, there are plenty of party-worthy nibbles that are happy to hang out in your fridge until you're ready for them—no reheating necessary.
Hummus and other dips: the flavours of most dips and sauces actually improve with a day or two to chill; make them ahead of time and chill, then serve as is or slide into the oven to bake until bubbly.
Marinated Olives: pick up an assortment of your favourites and add strips of lemon or orange zest, garlic cloves, sprigs of fresh rosemary or thyme, and a pinch of chile flakes.
Pesto Bocconcini: drain a container of one-bite bocconcini; toss with jarred pesto and a drizzle of olive oil. Serve with toothpicks.
Cheese Truffles: roll soft goat cheese or Boursin into marble-sized balls; roll in finely chopped toasted or spiced nuts to coat.
Parmesan or Pecorino: crumble a wedge of hard, salty cheese into a pile of rubbly chunks; drizzle with liquid honey and add a generous grind of black pepper overtop.

Whether it’s melted on burgers, mixed into macaroni or fanned out on a charcuterie board, cheese is always a treat.
